Philip Bunting
  • Philip is an Australian author, illustrator, and father of three tiny bookworms, based in the Noosa hinterland.

  • Philip was born in the Lake District, in the far-north west of England. He grew up just around the corner from Mr McGregor’s garden, a mile or so down the valley from Mrs Tiggywinkle’s house, and only a short row from Owl Island. It’s fair to say that a childhood spent growing up in the Lake District means that children’s literature is in his blood.

  • Philip’s first book – Mopoke – was published in 2017, and was awarded Picture Book of the Year (Honour Book) at the 2018 Children’s Book Council of Australia Book of the Year Awards.

  • Since Mopoke, Philip has had many books published, including Sandcastle, How Did I Get Here?, Koalas Eat Gum Leaves (written by his better half Laura Bunting), and most recently Another Book About Bears (with Laura Bunting, again).
